Diaries (49 v.) of Von der Mehden and his wife, Susan (Bates) von der Mehden (1874-1955), chiefly detailing daily life and personal celebrations, including dietary diaries (3 v., 1923-1925) kept by Susan von der Mehden; correspondence, financial papers, notes, biographical materials, newspaper clippings, photos, scrapbook, and other personal papers, including information pertaining to his 50 year membership in the Freemasons; mss. of 15 major works including symphonies, concertos, quartets, and sonatas and sketches of several smaller works; published works and facsimile of his collected works (printed posthumously by University of Connecticut); and 104 wax cylinders, owned by von der Mehden, of works either composed or conducted by him or his contemporaries, as well as six vaudeville sketches.
